Prince of Ponies by popular Auckland author Stacy Gregg has been picked by young readers nationwide as the winner of the 2020 Storylines Kids’ Pick competition run in association with What Now.

Stacy Gregg is the second-time winner of the award run by the TV2 children’s programme What Now in conjunction with the Storylines Children’s Literature Trust. Her novel The Fire Stallion won the inaugural Storylines Kids’ Pick award in 2019. The winner is chosen by young readers from the annual Storylines Notable Books Junior Fiction list, after they’ve watched reviews by young readers on the What Now television programme or website.

Stacy has written 26 books for junior readers, mostly on themes of horses and adventures, with more than two million copies sold worldwide.

Her internationally successful Pony Club Secrets series is the inspiration behind Mystic, an exciting new television series for children. The series was filmed in Auckland earlier this year and will start screening on TVNZ this month. It is a co-production by UK-based Slim

Film and Television and local producer Libertine Pictures for CBBC, and will screen on the BBC children’s television channel, the ABC in Australia and TVNZ.
