Storylines is delighted to share the news that the 2023 Margaret Mahy Medal award winner is James Norcliffe.

James Norcliffe is an acclaimed poet and writer for children and young adults, as well as a prolific editor and poetry champion. The Margaret Mahy Medal is New Zealand’s most prestigious honour for children’s and young adult authors, illustrators and publishers, and we are thrilled to recognise James’ longstanding contribution.

Join Storylines for the afternoon to celebrate with James Norcliffe, the 2023 Storylines Margaret Mahy Medal winner who will present the Storylines Margaret Mahy Lecture. The date is Sunday 2 April, and it will be held at the University of Auckland’s Epsom Campus. James Norcliffe will announce Storylines 2023 award winners and launch a new book.
