At a glamorous and glittering awards event held at the GMHBA Stadium in Geelong on Friday night, this year’s shortlisted creators, their books, and their publishing teams were honoured in a room filled with passionate children’s literature lovers. From teachers, teacher librarians, authors, illustrators, and more, and hosted by the brilliant Joel McKerrow, like-minded people joined together in celebrating diverse people and lives which help make Australia and New Zealand so rich and vibrant.

A colourful brochure featuring all of the longlisted titles will be designed and distributed to bookstores, schools, and libraries by BookPeople Kids later this year, to whom we are most grateful.

We would like to extend an enormous thank you to The Copyright Agency who supported us and the shortlisted creators so generously this year.
