The Read NZ Te Pou Muramura Pānui
The Read NZ Te Pou Muramura Pānui (formerly the Book Council Lecture) is held in November each year.
This year the address was given by Te Kahu Rolleston (Ngāi Te Rangi), one of the most sought-after creative writing educators in Aotearoa.
While his slam poetry or rap is commonly requested, the questions he fields most often are around his teaching. Te Kahu’s Pānui, Te Tukanga Ako, presents for the first time his personal approach to teaching. It fuses deeply personal recollection with instructional ako, exploring how these elements inform and shape each other in the classroom and beyond.
