Presenting the Taranaki Storylines Story Tour are inaugural Te Awhi Rito New Zealand Reading Ambassador for Children – Ben Brown,with other talented writers Cristina Sanders, Stuart Lipshaw and Tania Sickling.

Ben Brown (Ngāti Mahuta, Ngāti Koroki, Ngāti Paoa)is an award-winning author who writes for children and adults across all genres, including poetry, which he also enjoys performing.In May 2021 he was made the inaugural Te Awhi Rito New Zealand Reading Ambassador for Children.

Cristina Sanders is an historical fiction writer from Wellington, now living in Hawke’s Bay.In 2020 she won the Storylines Tessa Duder Award for an unpublished Young Adult manuscript. This became Displaced, published in April 2021and shortlisted for the 2022 NZ Children’s Book Awards (Young Adult).

Stuart Lipshaw is managing editor at New Zealand’s biggest publishing house, Penguin Random House NZ, and works with many of Aotearoa’s finest writers to make incredible books. Writing a book of his own has been a lifetime dream come true.Oh Boy: A Storybook of Epic NZ Men was published in 2018. and was named a 2019 Storylines Notable Non-Fiction Book.

Tania Sickling won the Storylines Joy Cowley Award for her picture book manuscript, Grandpa versus Swing, in 2020. She loves to read, and continues to write in any spare moment and on any scrap of paper she can find. She finds inspiration in the charm and chaos of everyday life with children.
